NY JACL: SERVICES

Speakers Bureau

Public educational programs highlight our ethnic history in the US which includes anti-Asian racism on the West Coast resulting in the WWII incarceration of Japanese Americans in concentration camps. Through our Speakers Bureau, presentations are made to schools, teacher workshops, places of worship, and other gatherings interested in the ethnic history, civil rights violations, and their implications for all Americans.

Our NY JACL Speakers include Fred Hartman, Stan Kanzaki, Lillian Kimura, Michi Kobi, Sumi Koide, Albert Matano, Tomiko Sakazume, Madeleine Sugimoto, Violet Takahashi, Tadashi Tsufura and George Yuzawa. We welcome anyone interested in joining this project.

If you are interested in attending or would like to host a speaker from the JACL Speakers Bureau, please contact Dr. Sumi Koide at 914 - 693 - 2048. Brochures available upon request. For more information about the Speakers Bureau, click here.

Advocacy

Through our advocacy program, we promote fair treatment and portrayals of Asian Americans. We monitor and respond to anti-Asian discrimination and hate crimes in coalition with other civil rights organizations.
